Henshue's Short Biography and Vitae

So writing this was a horrible experience. It took my wife and I about 5 hours to write something that didn't completely sound like self-serving drivel. Probably the worst part, as anyone who has ever done one of these bios for a conference brochure or something knows, it feels like you are writing your own obituary.

Nick Henshue earned his Bachelors Degree in Environmental Education from Slippery Rock University and his Masters in Ecology from East Stroudsburg University.  He is currently working on his Doctorate in Ecology and Evolution at Rutgers University.  Nick taught Environmental Science at Easton Area High School for 10 years. He has co-authored multiple successful grants with different nonprofits, and has taken students camping, studying, and trekking all over Pennsylvania, Wales, Canada, and Costa Rica.  His  2010 book, titled "The Essential Species of Pennsylvania"; it is a brief field guide to our most common species. Nick spends his summers teaching Upward Bound courses in Biology and Environmental Science.  His research interests include ecology, climate, and helping teachers teach amazing science.
